Wireless Network Access in Suite 526

  • Any user can access the internet through “NYUMC guest”. A website will ask you to approve the terms. Then you can access the network.
  • *** The guest network has problems with repeated daily use*** The network blocks users who max out their time. For routine use, lease holders should request access to the secure network through a K-ID.
  • K-ID request – please send your full legal name, date of birth, email address, and phone number to a BioLabs staff member to request a K-ID. They will submit the information and an email will be sent to confirm registration.
  • After obtaining a K-ID, users can login to the secure network “LMC Mobile”.

Set-up instructions

Setup the printer driver on your laptop

For Mac OS & Microsoft Windows

  • Go to your web browser and google “cannon support driver”
  • Choose the link https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/
  • Click on “Drivers and downloads”
  • In the space provided type “3330”. Autofill should show you the option “imageRUNNER ADVANCE C3330i”. Choose it
  • Download any of the “UFR” drivers appropriate to your operating system
  • Note the location of the downloaded file. Unzip it if necessary

For Microsoft Windows 10

  • Go to “Settings” – the gear icon
  • Choose “Devices”, then “Printers and Scanners”
  • Choose to “Add printer”. The system will search for a printer and likely not find the unit. If so, choose “The printer I want is not listed”
  • Click the option “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname”
  • Device type – autodetect
  • Hostname or IP address – 10.180.31.207
  • Portname will autofill with IP address above
  • The printer type should be identified as iR-ADV C3325/3330 if it connects correctly.
  • Choose the option to look for the driver in your files
  • Locate and Choose the driver file within the driver folder downloaded from Canon above. Now you should see iR-ADV C3325/3330 UFR II within your driver list.
  • Choose the driver and allow the software to partner the driver with the printer to finish the setup.

For Mac OS

  • Go to “System Preferences” – the gear icon
  • Choose “Printers and Scanners”
  • Click on the “+” tab at the bottom of the printer list window
  • The new window has an “IP” icon at the top left. Click on it
  • Address - 10.180.31.207
  • Protocol “Line Printer Daemon-LPD”
  • Name – will autofill with the IP address – Manually enter whatever name is useful to you
  • Use – chose “select software”
  • Locate the driver file from the Canon support download above.
  • The setup utility should partner the driver with the printer to complete setup.
  • Use the drop down menu to choose the correct printer from your printer list

Printing: Using the USB Cable on the Canon 3330i

  • Locate the USB cable attached to the rear of the copier
  • Plug the cable into your laptop. It should automatically identify the printer.
  • Choose to print within your software application
  • Use the drop down menu within the printer window to choose the correct printer from your printer list – iR-ADV C3325/3330

Printing: Using a USB Memory Drive on the Canon 3330i

Turn on copier if it is in energy saver mode (press energy saver key to wake machine)

  • Insert the USB stick into the port on the right side of the copy machine (near the scanner bed) 

On the touch screen:

  • Please choose “Main Menu” from the upper left of the screen
  • Then choose “Show All” from the upper right of the screen
  • An icon called “Access Stored Files” should be visible. If not, scroll to find the icon.
  • Press “Access Stored Files”
  • An Icon called “Memory Media” should be visible. Choose it.
  • Your storage drive will be labeled “Memory Media A:”
    • If you click on the name of the drive, it will reveal the subfolders. You can use the touch screen to select the appropriate folder and file
  • Press the “Print” button at the lower right of the touch screen
    • A submenu with settings for color/b&w, resolution, etc will appear. Please select your preferences.
  • Press “start printing”

Scanning: Using a USB Memory Drive on the Canon 3330i

  • An icon called “Scan & Store” should be visible. If not, scroll to find the icon.
  • Press “Scan & Store”
  • An Icon called “Memory Media” should be visible. Choose it.
  • Your storage drive will be labeled “Memory Media A:”
    • If you click on the name of the drive, it will reveal the subfolders and you can select the appropriate folder to store your scan within.
  • Place the document to be scanned either in the sheet feeder (face-up) or on the scanner bed (face-down).
  • Press the “Scan” button at the lower right of the touch screen
    • A submenu with settings for color/b&w, resolution, etc will appear. Please select your preferences.

On the copier keypad:

  • Press the illuminated Green Start button to start scanning.
