The Hôtel-Dieu was finished in 1878, and is the oldest hospital in Europe. It has been symbol of healthcare in France, at the very center of Paris.

In 2019, it was decided that the Hôte-Dieu needed to be renovated, to be the flagship of what health & innovation in France should be.

The Hôtel-Dieu project will act as the spearhead of France's innovation in healthcare. In the heart of Paris, the project will include shops, social housings and artistic spaces, along with 10 000m² of incubator space and biotech-related activities, managed by BioLabs.
While remaining true to the spirit of Europe's oldest hospital, it will be a brand new building reflecting the French spirit of innovation.
Just like other sites around the world, the Hôtel-Dieu BioLabs site will feature state-of-the art laoratories and brand new office space.
Spanning more than 10 000m², the future site will answer to any startup's needs. It ambitions to be a hub connecting innovation in medicine, various specialties, big ecosystem focusing multiple actors, boosting health innovation in France....

Opening 2021 !
In addition to the developments of the future Hôtel-Dieu, a temporary area will open in 2021. Planned to kickstart BioLabs' development in Paris, this 500m² area will host startup and gather doctors and innnovation experts from all of Paris and act as a first step towards the larger project.
